It seems rather clear that most 1.2GHz T-birds are UNlocked...So has anyone ever bought a LOCKED 1.2GHz T-bird?

I'm going to buy a T-Bird 1.2GHz this first week of April; seeing that the 1.33/1.3GHz parts were already released, im still planning to get a 1.2GHz part and just o'c it to 1.3GHz (100x13) or
1.33GHz (133x10). The most important concern for me right now is the REMARKING of CPU's--well, so can we definitely say that LOCKED 1.2GHz parts are most probably remarks? Im NOT saying that this unlocked/locked criterion is the all-impt factor in spotting a remarked 1.2GHz, BUT would it be some sort of a guide (ie, if unlocked, MOST PROLLY ok, if locked, MOST PROLLY remarked)?

Secondly, do most of you who bought 1.2GHz parts able to clock this to 1.3GHz or higher? I mean is an extra 100/133 MHz too much of a strain on this processor even with HSF's like the FOP38; or not?

Well, for the 1.2GHz Athlon Bs, locking was never a problem because the max multiplier was 12.5. only .5 up from 12.0

I seem to remember another AT member with a 'locked' 1.2G, but it wad somehow fake and AMD replaced it. There's a thread about it somewhere here at AT.

Yeah, I had a 1.2GHz tbird that was locked. Turns out that it was a remarked chip, and AMD replaced it with a new one. However, I have heard of other locked 1.2's that weren't remarked.
