I just saw them over the weekend in Noblesville, IN. It took us FOREVER just to get in to the venue because they were doing pat downs of every person entering. Lots of drunk middle-aged people getting crazy. The show wasn't too bad. A bit longer than I think it should have been, vocals weren't the greatest, and the audio wasn't mixed very well. Alice Cooper opening was a much tighter show and I really enjoyed that.

What kind of stage show did Alice put on? He's been going back and forth his last few tours between a elaborate magic show and a toned down band playing songs on a stage.

"A bit longer than I think it should have been"

how is that possible for a final tour? I'd take 4 hour sets from my favorite bands if I could ^_^

Agreed. Crue just isn't high on my favorites list. The audio mixing issue is partly to blame for me being a bit blah about the show.

I would say it was somewhere in the middle of that. Definitely had some theatrics - guillotine, tall creepy puppet guy, etc. For me it was a fun mix. And they sounded great.

I can't listen to Vince hobble through another show, saying every third or fourth word and mumbling through it all. The rest of the band is great, but he really ruins it.
Indisputable proof below...

My experience when I saw them with Kiss. Tommy was still great though.

As a band, I thought Kiss was far better.

It will be their last tour for the drummer if the roller coaster drum rig falls down on him. That's some seriously crazy shit right there. But it still don't do a thing for most of their crappy music. But they do have a few decent songs. And I would almost pay to go see that rotating drum rig in action, as long as I'm not directly under it when it falls, that is. It's a helluva lot more entertaining show than say, watching Miley Cyrus slide down an inflatable tongue, or take a nap on a giant bed while dwarfs crawl out of it.

Probably not Mick Mars is not too healthy. This is essentially his last chance.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mick_Mars

Health

For most of his professional career, Mars has openly struggled with ankylosing spondylitis,[8] a chronic, inflammatory form of arthritis that mainly affects the spine and pelvis. It was initially diagnosed when he was 17 years old and has increasingly impaired his movement and has caused him a great deal of pain. This led to hip-replacement surgery at the end of 2004.[9]
Over the years, the illness has caused his lower spine to seize up and freeze completely solid, "...causing scoliosis in [his] back and squashing [him] further down and forward until [he] was a full three inches shorter than [he] was in high school."[10]

How in the hell can he even play at all?

Many venues have piss poor audio quality, many bands in the last several decades rely on studio magic...there is an energy at a live show you don't get listening to it at home.

Not everyone is a whiny-bitch pussy.

And he also don't have much choice, if this is his last chance to make serious money before retiring.

He is probably heavily drugged before hand, including shots of some kind of steroid and/or pain killer in his back, which means he probably has a doc that tours with him, just to properly administer the spine injections.

And it wouldn't surprise me in his condition that he might be using a prerecorded guitar track, but that still takes a whole lot of effort to perform with it, when you are essentially a cripple.

Apparently not, as he had a couple of flubs at their Grand Rapids, MI show and at least one of them was bad enough to trainwreck and stop the show.

Here's the Detroit News review, a lot of people that attended the show chime in on the comments too.

Sorry you grew up thinking a Ford Mustang was a muscle car.

Sorry you are Canadian.

Have a spin with Perry Como and de-stress yourself, maybe pour some Octane Booster in your awesome ride...

This is another problem...so many are used to bands playing pre-recorded. They love is sounds like the radio/album.

Crue fucks up at times, they like to have fun so they fuck up at times, lip-syncers do it too and it's obvious since the music keeps playing.

If I wanted to see music played perfect on stage, I'd go to a light jazz, classical, opera show (which I do like too). I want to see rock stars living their life, so improvise at times and if you mess up, so be it.

Those that say Crue are not rock stars (metal or otherwise) are trying too hard.

His reported net worth is $40 million bucks, I think with his born on date he can work that out.

because michigan and especially Detroit. They probably expected to have Crue buy them a house for showing up for the last show.

Net worth isn't necessarily cash ready to spend in hand. But most adults already know that. So what's your excuse?

He could easily have nearly 40 million in hard assets, and nearly zero money to pay any new bills like property taxes, medical bills or a million other bills that could come up. Would you rather sell a few expensive cars or a vacation property to pay that new tax bill, or go touring again to keep your mcmansion and your luxury cars?

So why is he touring at all if he don't need the money? I sure wouldn't in his physical condition. And that wouldn't make him a whiny-bitch pussy if he didn't, just smart. Because dropping dead on stage just to relive his teenage fantasy of being a rock star certainly isn't worth dying for, especially in front of a lot of geriatric fans his age and older who are desperately trying to relive their misspent childhoods, just like you are.

Was very tempted to get tickets, but I won't be able to make it back to see them when they are play here and I would not have anyone to go with in my new town since I don't know anybody there. Stinks as I have never seen them and have always wanted to.

You didn't catch The Dead of Winter Tour a few years back?

Damn that was one hell of a show.

Jesus Christ.

Musicians do it because they love it.

You are fucked in the head.

He is in pain, his performances for a long time are not going to cause him to drop dead.

I never stopped living a childhood, my life has been a party since I knew what parties were.

If I die doing that, do I really give a shit?

Most Crue fans are younger than Tommy and Mick is about 10 years older than the rest.

He has a handicap that he worked around.

Why don't you go find a nice corner that reminds you of child porn and hate and relish in your dreams?
