I believe so, it's another sequel in Romero's Dead series.

so is this a sequel to the NEWER dawn of the dead from last year or so, or to the old ones?

i really REALLY liked the remake of Dawn of the Dead. i have probably watched it 5 times. that movie is great w/surround sound in the dark on my DLP .

Yes, new dawn of the dead is awesome. The orginal series has three movies and dawn of the dead was number 2, but I don't think "land of the dead" was the third one...not sure though.

the old dawn of the dead sucked IMO. however, i saw it after I had seen the newer one. i'm sure if I saw the old one when I was like 10 years old it would have scared the crap out of me. Aliens and The Fly used to scare the crap out of me.

I saw the preview in the theaters. Apparently this one is a little different in that the zombies can fire automatic weapons and communicate with each other. I'm still gonna check it out!

Thanks, I havce it and was really wary of watching a 1978 movie, but had mostly planned on not bothering, so now I will know not to.

I guess you liked 28 days later, which was also excellent.

yea i liked 28 days later, but it was different than expected. the cinematography was great in that movie. its kind of slow, but yea in general, i enjoyed 28 days later.

its not too fair to compare 28 days later to the new dawn of the dead, they are 2 completely different movies as similar as they may be.

I fvcking love the new Dawn of the Dead, Its one of those movies I can see over and over and enjoy every time.

I'll be checking out this new one for sure, looks decent.

For those who like these kind of movies but haven't seen Shaun of the Dead, go do so ASAP, that movie is brilliant!

yeah...I think the theme is that the zombies get smarter...doesn't that kind of ruin the whole zombie mantra, of the mindless dead slowly stalking you, unyielding...

There is, nite of living dead, day of living dead, dawn of living dead, and now land of dead. Those are the ones by romero, which are original. All the other variations like: return of living dead, shaun of dead, 28 days, and others are made by others.

Years after the other movies, people are living in armored enclaves and trying to survive in a world overrun with zombies. I think that was the basic synopsis back when I first read about it.
