I was at the Cubs came yesterday, and some lady got beaned by a foul ball in the face. She was sitting in one of the first seats in the middle of right field. I forget which inning, but near the middle of the game she got nailed by a foul ball in the face. After she got hit, the people around her started helping her out, and the paramedics came. She was able to walk, and walked with the medics holding a bloody rag to her face. A little later some cop/offical person came over and cleaned up her seat/area because she left a mess there. I feel sorry for lady :( I was wondering if anyone caught the game on TV, and if they showed it?

Ouch. My friend got nailed by a puck at a Devils game back before they started using the protective net behind the goals.

A number of years back I broke a couple bones in my hand catching a line drive foul ball at a Tigers game, and they were very very nice to me. They gave me some free tickets to come back to another game, and some free food and whatnot. I'm sure the Cubs will do the same for her as a matter of courtesy.

You couldn't really sue them anyways (well you could try, but it won't go anywhere). On the back of all the tickets, and on signs in the stadiums generally, it states that you are assuming the risk of injury by entering. So unless the stadium were somehow designed in a way that creates an undo safety risk, or a player came over and beat you with a bat, you're on your own.

You would be surprised just how little those disclaimers mean to moron civil juries.

i'm just surprised this doesn't happen more often. There's tons of people reaching around you and you may not see it coming.. then bam... right in the face.
