man, its pretty much showed all the tricks david blane used, and explained how he did it. man, i believed in him too. =)

ie: levitation trick: make sure audience only sees your right leg and left sole, lift off right feet of ground by doing a calf raise with left leg. appears to levitate.
if he rises more than a few inches, its down with camera editing, and a wench.
 
lol, yeah that levitation is so bogus. I tried it for my friends (the 'levitation') and they said it looked pretty convincing.
 
Did he explain how David Blaine stayed in an ice coffin for a couple days with cameras watching him uncut?

I'm sure there's a logical reason for that one....mirrors maybe?

I prefer the sheer stupidity explanation. The fact that he calls himself a magician is amazing. A more accurate description is hack.
 
I can't understand why anyone would ever actually "believe" in magic at all. The very nature of it is based in deception. I have some friends who totally and completely believe in David Blaine's crap. I need to record that and show it to them. What channel was it on?
 
What about the card tricks? And other such tricks... Those are wayyyy more entertaining than the other stuff.
 
no, i was flipping through channel when i came upon this, so i didn't see the whole thing.

about the ice thing, mirrors seems probable. i think the levitation trick was the biggest draw. i saw a special on david blane, and the levitation trick was the coup de grace, the finishing act. was quite fitting for the special on street magic showing how to do it =)
 
For the levitation trick, I remember David Blaine actually lifting both his feet off the floor, probably 1-2 feet up.

It was a stupid camera change thing, and he was lifted up by wires or something.

about the card tricks, you will kick yourself when u see how its done

uhhh.. make someone pick a card from deck, put it back, and make that card levitate from deck of cards. done with trick cards, and sticky pad, rubberband mechanism doohickey.

making someone write a name of someone special, burn up the paper, then rub the ashes on magicians arm showing the name of person.
trick is editing, they never show you the first part. the part when the dude writes it down, and hands it to him, but magician will say, did you print it or handwrite it ? no no, you must print it (or handwrite it), gets the paper , rips it up, but rips it in a way so that the name will be intact. dude will again write the name while magician is standing away from distance, but meanwhile is reading the paper, and writing with sticky pen.

tearing doves bird head off and putting it back on. trick is , doves could hide their head in flaps. sleight of hand.

putting whole in quarter. sleight of hand with doctored quarter with hole, then defting giving back the real quarter.

pick a number between 1-50, 2 digits, odd numbers each, no repeating. magic man will read what you have in mind.
from this, youonly have like less than 10 numbers to choose from. and most people if told choose randomly, will choose number 37. when audience do not choose 37, edited it out.
