I saw it last night, thought it was a great movie. My GF also enjoyed it a lot. There were a few "conflicts" or little dilemmas that seemed to never get resolved or were kind of resolved out of no where and we didn't really get to see what resolved them, but all of a sudden they were resolved. But even w/that it was a very great movie.

Anyone else know if they actually filmed the last part in Colefield House? I know thats where the game took place, but I was just wondering if it was really filmed there (I am UMD alumni which is why I'm wondering :))

I just saw it and thought it was a great story. I'm wondering how true to life the movie stayed. It was pretty cool how the coach made a statement by playing only his black players against the all-white Kentucky team in the National Championship game...

That was Coach Carter..

I just saw the movie last night, and thought while it was an incredible story that needed to be told, the movie itself wasn't quite as crisp as it could've been. I thought Remember the Titans was much better made and did a better job illustrating the tension between the blacks and whites..while Glory Road had too many humorous moments to really hit the point home.

Still, there were plenty of powerful moments in ths movie and it kind of just makes you hate whitey..but as a basketball fan I didn't like how the games were just kind of dumbed down for the average fan.

The historic idea behind the film is timeless, and that reason alone is enough a reason for people to watch it.

I really loved the line "You think negroes are you going to be the future of basketball?? HAHA!"

The movie is not very factual. In real life they did not win the National Championship during Haskin's 1st season. Infact, Texas Western went to the NCAA Tournament in 63&64. They also went to the NIT in 65. They were not a struggling team in 66 like the movie leads you to believe. Also, keep in mind there were not 64 teams in the tournament like today.

The white guys that were upset about the black guys taking their spots on the team. Would have long since graduated before the all black national champion starting lineup played. There were already black players at Texas Western before Haskins arrived.

Also, the statement the coach made about playing only the blacks in the Championship game is completely false. He used this starting line-up several times prior to the Champiohship game.

Adolph Rupp was exagerated as a rascist during the film. The Banners of him in the movie were designed to make him look like Hitler.
