Interesting to see AMD drop prices before Conroe is fully available.

Blah, Wish The Prices Were That Low When I Bought My PC. :(

It's Good To See AMD & Intel Have A Price War. Better For The Consumer I Say (provided ordering websites & retailers don't gouge us).

Price cuts already occurred at Directron, Monarch and Mwave. Just bought a X2 4200+ at Mwave myself - $200 shipped Fedex 2 day including a copy of Age of Empires 3. Going to sell off the game for about $25 so the processor itself was about $175, not bad considering the price listed by AMD is $187.

Newegg is starting to p*ss me off. They STILL haven't cut the prices... and I want to order ASAP.

Ugh, no price cuts showing for Canada at all...this sucks. I guess we have to wait until the 27th?

Weird, when you go through the regular way (I did not see the newsletter thing on the side panel) you still get the old prices.

Thanks for the info.

According to Pricegrabber, Monarch should be selling the 4800+ for $321 shipped. However, when you click the link to Monarch's site, it comes up at $345 shipped. Monarch is the only place I've found thus far to offer the 4800+ (939) at the new reduced prices - but it's "temporarily back-ordered".

Huh, I thought it was only the AM2 stuff that was being reduced, guess I did not read carefully enough.

Make sure you look here. Don't look at the weekly specials, you'll get the higher price.

UPDATE:

Just purchased the S939 Athlon 64 X2 4400+ (2x1MB L2) Retail Box with the ASUS A8N32 SLIX16 mobo for $422 shipped from Monarch Computer. The chip is running $258 and the mobo can be added for $160 more plus $6 and change to ship it to me. Good deal for the best 939 board and a sweet chip, if you ask me.

Yeah I noticed that now. I wonder if you can get all the way to checkout with the higher prices? That would suck for people that were not aware of the cuts.

So far, the 4200+ is the only one that's been updated to the new pricing. I'm hypothesizing that they are working on updating the rest as I type...
