Wondering if Vista has a driver for VIA AGP to CPU Controller...

Please give some details such the VIA chipset (e.g. KT333, KT400, P4M800, et. al.) and driver details for AGP to CPU Controller (filename, publisher VIA or MS, version).

I ran Vista Beta Public 2 or whatever it was called on my VIA MVP3 + 688a southbridged Tyan S1598C2 motherboard and Vista correctly identified it.

This mobo is so old I doubt it's what you're looking for, but, Vista does at least have the MVP3 in it.

Thanks, I was looking for experiences on more recent AGP 2.0 or later chipsets such as KT266A and up, particularly AGP 3.0.

P.S. that brings back memories of tweaking for hours and hours with my FIC VA-503+ and TYAN S1598 boards. Just as I was about to put Socket 7 to bed for good, here comes the K6-2+ and K6-III+ chips and new BIOS!

VIA's current chipsets have a vista-capable DirectX9 graphics engine that, from a software perspective, still appears to be an AGP device.

So I wouldn't be worried about VIA AGP support for Vista. It's got to be there.

My ecs kt800pro socket 939 board ran fine. Vista found all the device drivers.

I ran Vista RC2 for quite a while on my old system. It was an MSI KT3 Ultra2-R, which was the KT333 chipset, and I had zero problems using the built-in Vista drivers. Hope that helps.
