Anyone running Tribes with a Geforce wanna show me how?

I cant seem to figure it out! What drivers are you useing?

Creative Labs GeForce SDR here with 649. Tribes is my daughter's favorite game. Runs great on an Asus P3V4X, 600/@800. She occasionally runs a tribes server as well. She's been asking me every day when Tribes II will be coming out-like I have a clue!!!

I simply installed the drivers and left the DEFAULT settings. Are you saying that Tribes won't run at all? (I'll go to her computer and get the exact settings if you need them, but she's playing Tribes right now! )

Hmm... I went and downloaded the tribes demo again because reading this gave me an urge to play again, and it wont let me play either. I cant even start the program. I'm going to do a little investigating now

Ok. I got her off for a minute:

OpenGl: Enable Buffer region extension (checked);
Allow dual planes...(checked)
(nothing else checked in that section)
Vertical Sync-On by Default
Buffer flipping mode-Auto
No anti-aliasing!

D3D:
Enable Fog (checked)
Adjust Z buffer depth (checked)

That's it.

no I meant the tribes videos settings thanks for that info though, when ever I try to change the video setttings I just get kicked to desktop!

RedwingsGuy: If you mean the video settings in the game, they are:
FullScreen (X)
Windowed Driver-software
FullScreen Driver-software
Res.: 1024x768
Gamma control is centered.

Well here is the problem I am having when I start Tribes. I get these two boxes, then it exits:

RegisterClass() failed: Cannot register window class.

Glide->OpenGL Wrapper: Cannot create OpenGL window!


Anyone know what to do?

chess9it seems that you arent useing your 3d card, but it's still kicking me, i think it may be my warezed windows :-D

Piku I think you need to download new drivers!

I did. I'm still trying to play around though... man I really wanna snipe people!

Also I want to see what this game actually is supposed to look like. The last time I played it it was on my pentium 200 without a 3D card. EVERYTHING was at its lowest except draw distance (needed for sniping ) and it looked like ass

Yup. OpenGl with the SDR doesn't give you anything software rendering won't. Will software rendering work with your card?

hmmm i cant change any of my video settings, i think it may be that i never really flushed my drivers when i was going through all of my modified geforce drivers....anyone know how to clear them out?

Humm, you might want to try making sure that both your OpenGL and desktop settings are 16bit, that's been the solution for some people.
