I've got a nice little atx case that can only hold one of these small SFX type psu's.I'd really like to grap another xp1600-1700 & drop it in a micro atx mobo.Just not sure if there's any SFX psu's that can handle the job.

I had an SFX 200w from Enhance electronics and it was certified for Athlon 1.33ghz. Note that this is for the OLD Athlon core, which runs hotter and consumes more juice than Athlon XP's of higher speeds. Just check the specs of the PSU and see how many amps can it handle on the different rails. 1600-1700+ XP's shouldn't be a problem.

The little Shuttle cases use to have 185W PSUs... the brand new Shuttle SN41G (with an Nforce2 motherboard) runs a 200W PSU. So I think the 200W would be fine--if it is of GOOD quality. I saw a SN41G with a XP2600+, 512MB of PC2700, a ATI Radeon 9700pro, a WD800JB, a CDRW/DVD combo drive, and a Turtle Beach SC running just fine yesterday. (he was actually playing some FPS game)

Note that power consumption is HIGHLY related to peripherals... if you're running 4 HDDs, I might say that 200W wasn't enough... but if you're running a single hard drive (or maybe even two), I think you'll be fine. Note that graphics cards are huge power hogs these days... but you can only have one... and I've seen the "worst" running in one of the SFF machines.

Best of luck!

Thats what I was thinking with the newer xp's it should'nt be as stressful on the psu as the older ones.I'll keep my eye open for an Enhance 200w unit I have a 250W Enhance running a 1.3g tbird no problem.

HokieESM,thats quite a load on that little psu,I wonder what Brand there using in it?

Thanks,Toro
