i was wondering how it runs for you guys?? exactly how much slower is it compared to using ddr memory? only from people that are using this particular setup please. no guesses and saying something stupid like "drastic performance loss", which i just can't buy.

That's all you need to know.

ps: it'll cut performance by 30%, probably even more at this point.

i've noticed under your "rigs", you are using ddr memory. are you saying it'll cut perfomance by 30% by personal experience or are you just guessing? i want someone that actaully used a rig like the one specified

My brother is running a system with an XP2000+ and PC133 (cas2). It's roughly 10% slower than my XP1900+ with DDR2700 (cas 2.5)and remember that I'm running a KT333 chipset and he's on a SIS645. The performance difference for the majority of applications is not that big whatsoever, if you already have half a gig of PC133 lying around don't hesitate to use it again.

A 10% performance decrease overall from my experience (larger difference in mem benchmark apps). The difference is more pronounced when using Photo Shop and other memory intensive apps.

Cheers

probably depends on the application. i gotta tell you truthfully that things "feel" snappier in windows with the ddr. ddr is so cheap now why not:p i have an ecs board that couldn't use the sdr in both slots. i have another pro version thats using sdr, but that pc is not used for games or anything stressful so i just got the 1st pc 1gb ofddr:)
