anyone running a scsi system in P4 system? Intel D850MV has no boot option for scsi

Im attempting to install XP on my SCSI-LVD Ultrastar on my P4 system w/ D850MV mobo..

This is what I have done..
-booted to winxp setup
-created partition
-formatted partition
-installed windows xp files

After this is finished it says in 15 seconds your system is going to restart and resume xp setup... then from here I have come across 2 problems...

#1 problem - if I leave the xp cd in there it doesnt give me an option to boot from the scsi hd and just goes back to winxp setup
#2 problem - when the xp cd is taken out of the cd-rom it doesnt resume winxp setup. it gives me a system halted error message.

How do I get my scsi HD to work????

I'm using the Intel 850GB, which you'd think would be pretty much the same BIOS, but in the BOOT MENU scroll down there it shows Boot Device Priority, in there it shows SCSI devices.
