Is anyone running 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 ram in an AM3+ motherboard?

I've read something about a 1 DIMM per channel of DDR3-1600 ram limit on AM3 CPUs.

I'm just wondering if I should go with 16gb of ram (4 sticks) or just go with 8gb to make sure I don't run into any stability issues.

Thanks for any help.

What do you do that requires more than 8gb? If you can't come up with a decent answer to that then this question is moot anyway

Not really sure. I do some Photo Shop editing of large files once in a while...guessing that is the only thing really.

I figured since ram is so cheap just to buy 2 8gb kits. No? Don't bother?

I currently run 8GB dual channel 1600's in my Z68 system. Not at all acquainted with AM3 processors, but past-gen Intel systems that limited the use of all four slots seemed to involve motherboard quirks.

I'm considering purchase of a spare set of either 2x2GB or 2x4GB of the same GBRL RAMs because it seems substantiated that there isn't any problem on my system for it. I've even heard I can run them at CMD=1 with all four slots filled.

Sorry for the distraction if you only wanted answers from users of AMD systems . . .
