I know someone here must have at least seen this version before.

I fixed a computer for a co-worker...hard drive was inop. She is from Jordan, and wants regular English Win 98 on (her kids don't read Arabic) and also has a copy of Win 98 Arabic.

My question: she basically wants to be able to switch back and forth from English to Arabic.....won't the Arabic version do this by itself?
All the setup files are in English, so it looks like it's all on there.

Or do I need to dual boot both versions?

Any help would be appreciated. I figured there would be a better chance of someone in OT having experience with this since there is more diversity here.

Installed it once for someone who had to give a demonstration. On the CD are several versions among which Arabic only and English with Arabic support. I don't think you can really switch between the languages in Windows 98, either you have Arabic, or an English version where you can use Arabic characters, and type from right to left and stuff.

Edit: Found out the stuff about the English version the hard way, installed it first in Arabic while not knowing the language , just did it blindly on my knowledge of previous Windows 98 installations, with all the text/windows/buttons written the other way.

I just installed the Arabic-enabled version instead of the localized version. All the icons and stuff come up in English. Does this just mean that if you go to a web site that is in Arabic it will display it?

I guess you could install both on diff partitions and just have her boot to one or the other depending on which she needs
