Anyone Run Mapping/GPS Software on a Netbook?

I'm looking at the Inspiron Mini 9, but wanted to know how the screen would be running something like MS Streets and Trips. Anyone with any experience?

ArcMap runs pretty shitty.

Yes, the Garmin software runs perfect on my eee 701: http://home.roadrunner.com/~a.baez/eeegps.jpg

It's a smaller resolution than your 9, so it should be fine. I also run the Garmin Topo software on hikes.

I have run DeLorme software with their Earthmate GPS module several times. Reality is, I rarely use it because I usually always know where I am going. 🙂

I just ordered an eee pc 901 and Garmin's software, am going to replace my back up notebook and GPS with it I hope.

I heard good things about Garmin's software VS M$ Streets & Trips.

Garmin is nice because of the large amounts of custom maps out there. I took it over to Japan with two really detailed custom maps and it was a lifesaver twice.
