I want a way to summon all the digital pictures my friends onto one site. I have messed around with snapfish but I hate how they are limited to one size. I have messed around with a couple of the php gallery packages. But I couldnt find a good easy batch upload feature (did I miss something?).. So what do you guys use?
Trying to avoid ftp.

I host a bunch of pics for my (now recently ex-) girlfriend. She's not completely computer illiterate, but she still might not have figured this out. Besides, I had the space and bandwidth sitting idle, so why not put it to good use? I just used Microsoft Frontpage to slap the gallery together for her. All she wanted to do was have an easy way to show family and friends her pics from a trip to Spain.

EDIT: Nobody can edit / change this but me; you need a password to get into the workings of the site. Sorry. Guess I didn't read the whole post

i haven't found one with a batch upload either, and without a batch upload, they're practically useless. i'm not gonna sit there and upload hundreds or thousands of pics one by one. :(

If you're using Gallery, you can install the Gallery Remote which is a client-side Java application that provides users with a Windows-like frontend to upload and manage their pictures.

its drag & drop batch uploads, and you have galleries. you can also have blog modules, file modules, discussion modules, etc. free accounts are limited to 20megs though. its very easy to use, and made for people wanting to just publish content, and not worry about ftp/html/etc.

Also, if the users are running Windows XP, it has an option on the left side menu bar that says "Publish folder to Web". After running a small .reg file to update the system, you can click that and it has a step by step process to add the images to a Web Gallery.. Makes it pretty easy.
