Anyone resell concert/game tickets to make $$?

Yes it's called scalping tickets and is illegal in most places.

I thought scalping only applied to last minute deals, usually done at the location of the event?

I'm talking about ebay.

You might notice that on some of the tickets themselves it'll say resale is prohibited. I think I remember a rule on ebay about sale of event tickets as well. Ah found it: Text. Just make sure you're working within those rules on ebay, or your auctions will probably get nuked.

It depends. Good sales usually happen close to the game time, when the buyers are anxious to get tickets. But by then it's considered scalping.

ebay has a page that details what is legal and what is not depending on the state, google for it.

Scalping is scalping no matter WHEN it happens (not just before the event). A very select few states define scalping as occuring within X feet of the venue, but that is the exception, not the rule.

And scalping is not illegal in all states. Probably about half, give or take.

doing this will make you a disgusting human being. There are few things in life I have more contempt for than the scum sucking bottom feeder pissants who make it impossible for real fans to get good seats.

the worst part? ticketmaster colludes with these asshats- they get acces to special phone numbers to snap up all the good seats while everyone else is on hold.

you should be kicked in the nuts for even considering this.
