i can't imagine having to change your oil enough to justify that.

if you go by 3 month intervals, in 10 years that's 40 oil changes.
is that enough for you?

3 months? you drive 10,000 miles in three months? Any newer vehicle using synthetic oil will not require an oil change every three months.

1. why do u assume everyone is using synthetic?
2. why do u assume everyone's car usage is set in stone?

i'm going by the average recommended change interval. you are naming an extreme.

where is 3000 miles the average recommended change interval by anyone other than lube places?

3 months is not the average recommended (that's the Jiffy Lube extreme rip-you-off recommendation).

6 months/5000 miles is more than enough even for older cars with non-synthetic. The OCI is even longer for more modern vehicles or those using synthetic oil.

As for the link in the OP, this only makes sense if you also have an oil filter relocation kit, as the oil filter is the only painful part of an oil change.
