Anyone Removed Heat Spreader?

Has anyone done this to a P4 or A64? Did it help? How difficult was it?

looks like you can't remove the IHS (heat spreader) from newer P4 because they are epoxied on, but a64 looks to be fine.
a lot of people decreased their temps.

dont do it. I've heard horror stories of dead cpu's. it's not worth it unless you feel not a single bit sh*t about buying a new one.

the .09 amds are cool enough as it is, there is no reason for it.

i've seen what they used between the die and the heat spreader, its pretty cheap stuff, and too much of it also. it would just be so much cleaner.
