Anyone remember when XBOX Live came out? Is it already one year?

I bought the XBOX Live starter kit about 1-2 months after it's release because I wanted to play Phantasy Star Online. I haven't touched the service since the end of the summer last year. I want to cancel my service before my 1 year is up. I was wondering if anyone remembers when the service was launched 1 year ago?

Also I was thinking of logging on XBOX Live with my modchip turned on. This will automatically cancel my service no? I don't really care if they blacklist my XBOX. I don't think I will be using their service anymore.

Even after you get blacklisted, it doesn't garantee that they stop charging you for the service. Besides, you might want to use it in the future, why risk it.

I bought the service after Phantasy Star Online came out so Im sure it's a bit after the initial release date. I guess I'll give them a call.

I was a beta tester for it and got it like in september. I guess they gave me a couple months free because they charged me this month.

Yep, the service is a lot better now than when PSO came out. There are tournaments, leagues, and better games to play with more on the way.

You could just turn on your Xbox and dig into the Live menu... You can find out when it expires, and even turn off the "auto-renew" feature.

I still have an unopened starter kit I bought last summer on clearance at Target. Will I still get the free 1st year once I finally hook it up?

I don't see why not. As far as I know, there's no expiration date. Might want to look on the box first though.
