Bought at least $5K worth of stuff, including an overpriced $100 sleeping bag that was really worth $30. At least I was able to successfully dispute all of the charges that resulted in NSF.

I remember them, everything was "free after rebate" ... but they charged about 4 times what everything should have costed, and they were slow as heck at getting rebates back to people. Then of course came bankrupcy where lots of people got screwed. That being said, they should have seen it coming.

I actually got all my rebates back from them when a product only cost four times as much before rebate. Then it got to be ten times as much and that was just way too much money to have tied up in rebates.

I didn't know much about that outfit until they closed. Then I heard about how so many people were going to lose many thousands of dollars EACH. I remember thinking how stupid it was to believe a company could give stuff away for free indefinitely.

I also got luck and disputed everythng with the CC company when they went bankrupt. All the stuff was crap anyway.

I NEVER bought anything from them. Anyone who didnt absolutely KNOW that was a scam deserved to have their money taken. Instead of being bailed out by banks nad having the costs passed along to all of us.

It was 90 cents here in michigan after deposit. Find me a place where you can get cans of pop for 7.5 cents each.

Every few months my grocery store sells either Coke or Pepsi 24 packs for ~$3.50. So that is under 15 cents a can. I usually stock up then. But over labor day, there was the best pop deal I've ever seen. That grocery store was selling 24 packs at $4.50 each. But Pepsi was running a $10 rebate for every two 24 packs you buy. Net cost for 48 cans of pop: $9 - $10 + $0.37 = -$0.63. After the cost of the rebate stamp, I was paid 63 cents to take away 48 cans.

WOW I remember that deal and I got in on it. I was going to Arizona State at the time and living in the dorm. I had no car and couldn't make it to any stores easily to get a large quantity of soda/water. I got in on that deal and got a little extra and it was all delievered to my dorm free. I had to take 3 trips upstairs and use the dolly. It was a life saver though...
