Mega-necro!
I got a really cool R/C Quadcopter for Christmas that flies better than any other drone I've ever had:

So I looked up their other products to see what other cool stuff they had & discovered they have an R/C car with optional motion control:

This got me thinking about the R/C cars with the power glove controller I had as a kid. Just for the heck of it, I did a Youtube search for "powerglove r/c car" and found this video from 2010:

Nope, that wasn't it - the kid was using an actual Nintendo powerglove. But...he had a link to eBay for selling his car:

AHHH! This was it!!! I remember because the glove was fingerless!
My brother got the red one; I had the green one. It took quite a bit of googling, but I finally found it!
Apparently it was manufactured by Asahi Corporation & sold by Zita Toys in the 90's. The box also had a "licensed under Hasbro International" note on it & I've found Youtube videos of models sold under the Tonka brand (including a black model with a black glove). There are several available on eBay for a couple hundred bucks:

It appears to have been sold under three names:
1. Turbo Bionic (box art)
2. Turbo F.I.S.T. (licensed under Hasbro International)
3. Aero Racer II (sticker on the cars themselves)
Once I spotted the "Turbo Fist" name on the box art in the eBay pictures, I was able to find some Youtube video: (powerglove, turbo fist, just didn't have the right set of keywords!)

And of course, that led me to the 1991 commercial:

Hasbro even has a PDF copy of the manual available on their website! (Hasbro via Tonka via Kenner Products)

It was also sold as a different design from Tonka called the Racing First:

Turns out it was invented by a lady who has more than 200 licenses to her name & also invented the first disposable cell phone:

I'd love to know how the gravity sensor inside that thing worked! This was amazing technology for the early 90's! It's hilarious how the Internet works sometimes...I remembered I had posted this thread a looooong time ago looking for this toy. With a stroke of luck, google, and the right keywords, voila! I don't usually necro old threads, but when I do, it's because I've found the answer to my question
