Anyone remember the Q3 full conversion Bid For Power?

I had totally forgotten about it until it popped into my head just a minute ago.

What ever happened to it? The developers had a good premise, and even got around funimations legal schenanigans. Did they eventually just die out? Or is it around still somewhere? All the sites I can see on google point to bidforpower.com which pops up as a forbidden address. Is there a different site or should I just give up on ever playing this game (after waiting 1.5 years )

Yea, it was released in 2 versions. The first was a beta which they had to change because it used the DBZ characters and they didn't get a license for it if Im not mistaken. And a second version with same skills and what not just different player skins. I have both around on my computer somewhere though. Kind of fun to play every now and then.

it got up to RC4 i think... and they werent DBZ characters anymore cause of legal reasons.

to bad... it was a fun game IMO

That's it? I remember playing both versions. They were good... 2 years ago

It's sad to see such a promising mod get tossed aside. From what I remember of the forums at their site they got burned out because everyone on the forums said "you guys suck, hurry up and release it" and the people making it got tired of all the BS. I wonder if when they canned it they released the code for someone else to pick up and continue?
