IIRC, it was about 2 guys who explore caves and they found some haunted cave. Supposedly they went in and heard strange noises. If anyone has a link, could you please post it? Thanks.

Anyone remember that horror story about that cave?

Was that one of those stories that people used to tell each other in elementary school? Like the one where there's a ghost that goes around screaming bloody fingers and some guy tells him to get a band-aid?
Yep. I'm curious to see if it was updated. The last entry I read said that he was going back one last time, this time with some fire power.
Yeah, they went into the cave and found a small crack in the back. Ended up draggting in power tools and opened it up enough to crawl in. They kept hearing unexplainable sounds behind the crack while they were working, and one time they took the dog in with them, and the dog just cowered in the corner the whole time.
If I remember right, 2 guys go through the hole. First time one guy goes in, a little bit later comes HAULIN ASS out and never spoke of it again and hid out at home. Second guy goes in with a walkie talkie thing, and stuff goes all crazy evil whacky on him, he boogies out and hides out at home havin bad dreams and stuff....
Never did see an update though.

Dunno. It was written as "non fiction" although it coulda been (And most likely was) "real life" fiction. Was actually VERY well written for how it was. A journal spanning a few days or weeks of 2 cave spelunkers opening a hole in a wall and going in. Anyways, hope someone remembers the link. Hell, could be the intarweb has swallowed it up into oblivion like so many other sites....

Cause he died, apparently. Wouldn't be a very good story if he came back... the end adds an incredible amount of effect.

I'm assuming the author didn't update to add to the effect of the story. No update means he met with whatever was down there, and lost. Very creepy way to end the story.

Whatdyou mean, cause he died? The whole point of leaving it at a cliffhanger is that you don't know what happened...
Anyway, its a good read. Builds up the tension good. The author is careful to keep the scary stuff vague, which is always the best way in a good ghost story
Btw, whats with the whole cliffnotes culture thats growing on AT? Seems that anytime someone links to something, or posts something more than 3 lines long, someone's asking for the cliff notes...
and then someone complains about this, and someone else asks for cliff notes to the complaint

I only got through the first line of your post, then decided I'd wait for the cliffnotes.
Actually, I think people asking for the cliffnotes read the first few lines, decided they wern't interested enough, and chose to up their post count while showing their lack of interest in the subject. Or they are giving blatent hints to the person to use better formatting and not put everything into one big paragraph.
Another variation of the "haunted cave" story held that after a small earthquake, a small crack/hole opened up on some guy's land. Locals began hearing noises coming from the hole so one of them climbs down on a rope, something happens down there, the guy climbs out and never speaks again. I think the 'Unsolved Mysteries' television show did a story on it.
I remember this one. It was actually a very entertaining read (although it ate up a LOT more time than I was anticipating when I first started on it.) I would say it would make a good movie, but then again, this is the kind of tale that works best in story format where your imagination is allowed a little more latitude.
