Because the parents are lazy and poor examples themselves, so they turn to athletes to fill the void...

I can't stand seeing an old school match anymore...so slow and plodding. They showed a Jessie Ventura match on confidential a few months back...horrible.

How about Greg "The Hammer" Valentine? Or Paul "Mr. Wonderful" Orndorf. How about Tony Atlas? Loved that guy. Big John Studd?

Used to watch that stuff all the time much to the chagrin of my dad.

Studd died in 1994. Liver cancer finally killed him after battling lymphoma.

How about the Iron Shiek? And Sargeant Slaughter? They had epic matches in the early 80s.

You would have thought the Vince McMahon would have brought out something similar with the onset of the Iraq War. A new Iron Shiek and Sgt. Slaughter. Hell, he brought back Rowdy Roddy Piper recently, surely he could have come up with something.

And for you Hulk fans (including myself), it's Captain America now. ;)

How can you mention the Shiek and not mention Nikolai Volkov :Q

Let us all now stand for the singing of the Russian National Anthem ;)
