Oh my was that stuff the shit! I remember being like 12 and going to Red Lobster with my parents where they carried Clearly Canadian for a while, which made RL even better. Blackberry Clearly Canadian? Pure win.

But then through my teens I stopped seeing it. I thought they went out of business or something. I tried some other flavored waters but they sucked big time. Mostly because they have that fail fake sugar. Seriously anything with that tastes like rancid shit. Want to ruin a nice coffee? Add that shit. Ruin one of the best tasting drinks ever (Coke)? Add some aspartame or whatever it is.

I checked Wiki and it said it was very popular in the 80s and 90s then fell away. Which makes sense as I was a teen in the 90s then as I got to my mid to later teens I never found it sold anymore.

Anyone buy any recently? Any available brands that don't suck?

Do I remember it? Yes. It was too fucking sweet though. Not much different than any other soda pop.

Loved it. There was a big Fad with seltzer drinks then, wish it would come back as it was much better than common Pop.

blackberry was the win.

I remember seeing some similar shit at shoppers or loblaws, forget which, or maybe both. it /has/ to have sugar though, and the shoppers ones might not (or maybe have both). aspartame is ass.

Oh hell yes. I loved this when I was a kid. Although I'm sure it had tons of sugar I bet it was better than soda. My m would buy the strawberry for me as a treat.

If you find somewhere to order it post!!!

My grocery store sells flavored seltzer. I'm not sure if it's concentrated to the same degree as what you're talking about though -- I can't recall it being terribly sweet.

NY Seltzer waters were way better
Well it's good to see some of ATOT knows about a good drink! :) Actually QueBert I do live in upstate NY. I don't recall seeing such a beverage but I'll have to look for it next time I go to the store.

The Walmart flavored water brand with that shit fake sugar in is just doesn't do it for me. I think I tried it once and never wanted to taste it again!

Were these the high price flavored water that was in glass bottles? If so, I don't really remember drinking them. I do remember some friends claiming they got drunk off of them (this was like maybe junior high). They thought they were wine coolers or something.

Yes, and New York seltzer too.

Shit was expensive and not needed. Carbonation is bad and in the case of flavored water, you dont get any benefit like caffeine. Am not surprised those things lost popularity even though they were tasty.

I hadn't thought about them for years. I use to buy one every so often, they came in blue tinted glass bottles.

I remember it too.

I worked in a variety store that sold it. The raspberry was great.

Way too sweet, and it had a peculiar back flavor. It was almost good, but their process needs tweaking.

I worked on a survey crew in my teens. I was the grunt who had to cut line through thick ass briars and brush or dig rebar points out of the ground. I fueled with a breakfast of Clearly Canadian and honey buns every morning at the drug store across the street. I was jacked till about lunch time. I actually was telling my gf how much I miss that drink just the other day.

carbonated + sugar, how is this not soda?

It is soda. Appeared at the hight of the clear beverage craze of the mid-90s.

I used to love that stuff but I haven't seen it in ages. Subway used to carry it. Apparently major Canadian groceries still sell it. I'll have to check Metro the next time I go there.
