I'm going on a multi day camping trip and I like the idea of strapping a small solar panel to a backpack and generating electricity during the day. This is a great way to keep cell phones or a pack of batteries charged for use later in a light, GPS device etc...
So far the most desirable features I've seen are a solar array connected to a battery pack. The battery pack charges during the day, later a cell phone for instance can be hooked up to the batteries and charge overnight. Most solar arrays I've seen do not output sufficient voltage to directly charge iPhones etc... Even if I dont use the battery pack to charge a phone, having a handful of charged batteries is also helpful. Anybody use one of these?
