Anyone recommend a hardware controlled USB modem

Looking to free up an IRQ by getting a USB modem. I would like a hardware controller based modem and need a recommendation. I see that USR, Actiontec and Aztech make USB modems, but none say if they are winmodems or hardware modems
Anyone recommend a good USB modem especially one that doesnt need an IRQ. Both of my com ports are disabled.
Thanks

I may be wrong, but as far as I know, all USB modems are winmodems. A USB device by itself doesn't require an irq, but the usb controller does need one for any of the USB devices attached to it to work. If you don't have any other USB peripherals, just disable the USB controller in your bios, freeing its irq, and then get either an internal or external modem.

hatboy is correct, all USB modems are winmodems basically.

I've used the Jaton one.(which is a motorola I think, not sure). Works great. Plug it in and off you go.
