Does brand matter, or get the cheapest ?

I read I should be looking at 2500MaH or higher for the AA's sound about right ?

This will be used in a Canon A720 IS ( 2 X AA ) and maybe some remotes, kid toys, etc depending on how well they work.

The Lacrosse BC-900 is one of the best.

Rayovac Hybrids or Sanyo Eneloops are two of the better rechargeable batteries because their power levels don't fade with time like regular rechargeables do. The Hybrids can be found at Wal-Mart, the Eneloops... I think somewhere like Costco or Sam's?

Thanks fuzzy,

I forgot to mention, I would also most likely be looking to also use these in my Canon 430EX flash.. Any special considerations for this, or would the same (type/brand) battery suffice ?

They should all work pretty well with a flash. However, definitely buy two sets of 4 rechargeable AAs for the flash, because if you ever do a full day's shooting with your flash, it will run down at least one set of AAs before the day is done.
