While in teh advanced section of the system properties, I saw some old profiles that were no longer used. They were listed as things like 100 MB, and a few were 14 MB. But after I deleted them, the drive reported freeing up of like 1 gig for a profile that was shown on the control panel as 100MB, and about 500MB for ones that were fewer then 25mb.

What did extra information contain, and why didn't the control panel accurately report what the profile size was?

The only thing I can think of is applicaiton data, but that is contained in the profile folder, which reported the correct size? Anyone know?

The Temporary Internet Files folder can take a lot of space if Internet Explorer is allowed to store the default amount that Windows sets initially (I've seen it set as high as 10% of the total size of the hard drive on some new Windows installations in the past) and they don't always show up when viewing the size of the folder in Control Panel or Windows Explorer.
