Speaking of fantasy series becoming TV shows, Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule is being made into a series. It'll be directed by Sam Raimi and presumably shown on ABC.

As long as they stop after book 1, great. Oh, and keep TG away from the script before he turns it into Ayn Rand's First Rule.

No kidding! That's why the book where whats-his-name carved a statue was easily the worst in the series. I don't really care for rabid anti-communist tirades in my scifi/fantasy.

He eased up a little after that, but the series had definitely gone downhill.
I didn't mind that book (Faith of the Fallen). However, I had a hard time getting through the book right before it, Soul of the Fire. I really like the Chainfire trilogy though (currently going through Confessor).

STOP WRITING CRAPPY TV SCRIPTS AND FINISH THE NEXT DAMN BOOK

GRR Martin, you're probably the best living writer in the English language. Dammit, I want Book 5.
