I'm planning to buy two of them for 1800+ systems this week. One of my friends built a Duron 1200 system around that board last month. All the reviews say it's a create little board. To me for the low price you can't really go wrong, even if it means you upgrade twice as fast.

I had I think 2 months ago, and it worked great while I had it (was gonna sell it and get an AK31A but it died). Great board, wouldn't hesitate to get it, except the Ak31A is so cheap now, its tough to pass up (But K7S5A still has its place with its Onboard LAN, SDR and DDR slots, and not quite as flaky Onboard audio)

I bought two a couple months ago with 1.2 durons... (90$ bundle). Strangely, one works perfectly with pc133 chips, and the other is a total b1tch unless I use ddr, but otherwise, very cheap price, good performance/stability.

compared to a asus board for fun, worked better, rock solid, both ram types worked fine and driver support was excellent...and not a flinch with any hardware that was thrown at it. better onboard sound quality than asus board. cant go wrong for $85 canadian

I have set up 3 K7S5A, one of them last week with a 1.2 Duron. The other two a while ago with XPs
I haven't flashed it with an O/C bios yet (I want to go to 133 MHz FSB and drop the multiplier a bit), but it works all smoothly.

Funny thing is, I did have to RMA one part, and that was the CDRW drive. How odd...

I have two of them. I had a lot of BSOD's until I updated the bios to the latest version. Also, DDR does seem a little more stable than PC133, but I changed the bios after the DDR switchover, so maybe that was only on the old bios. Since it virtually never goes down now, maybe the memory type really doesn't matter. So make sure you have the latest bios.

Make sure you have a solid power supply for this board as well. Check ocworkbench forums for more details.

I bought one to upgrade my kids machine, but ended up using it for mine when my Biostar mb started acting up. The thing is running rock solid with an AthlonXP 1700 and a Radeon 8500LE (knock on wood).
