Do search on the P4S8X - many many problems.

Just returned mine - would not run DDR333 and rebooted all the time - vCore problem. This board looks great on paper, and from Asus. Looked like a sure winner.

NOT !!!

I got one, and I like it. I don't know what that dude is talking about. It runs ddr333, I am having trouble getting 400 to work, but that might be the memory. Its feature backed, and runs fine. It has rebooted wierdly maybe 3 or 4 times in the past 3 weeks, but that does happed if never turn your computer off. I am having trouble getting my 1.8 P4 overclocked past 1.950, but other than that. I have a 120 G WD, GF4 4200, and some memory that is supposed to be rated at 400, and antec case. I am loving it. Pleanty of room to upgrade, and then all the extras it came with. I haven't seen many reviews, but I give it a go if I were you.

Just returned mine

Yeah, me too. Mine could run ddr333 but not ddr400. It also kept kicking me offline (onboard lan) while I was racing in my simracing league. Once while I was leading with 10 laps to ago! I was very pi$$ed! :( Also, would not overclock worth a dam. Exchanged it for a Gigabyte 8SG667 and have no complaints except for the lack of hardware monitoring on voltage tweaks. Have had it to 151 fsb on stock voltage tho,,,

Just returned mine too. Exchanged it and used the money to buy a P4 2.53 Gig processor. Put it onto my P4S533 motherboard of which i decided to keep a little longer after the headaches with the P4S8X. Kept getting BSODs while trying to load W2K even with bios in default settings. And, it would give me memory errors in any setting but the most conservative. Three of the last four Asus motherboards that I've purchased have had serious problems. Two AMD and one P4. And returning them results in a long drawn out process of which the replacement boards that they sent me were bad too but with different problems. My P4S533 board seems to be OK though. If you ask me, Asus is jumping the gun on the newer tech too quickly and their Quality Control can't keep up. The same can probably be said for some of the other board companies as well.

I know this question has been asked numerous times on many different forums but there seems to be so many different opinions, If I return my P4s8X what is the best high end board (features, speed, reliability) out there?

So far mine has been great! Only had it running 3 days but no problems. Yes have Corsair 2700 at DDR333 and 9700PRO all running on bios 1003. It would seam the quality has been hit and miss with theses boards. Some people get good ones:D and some don't:disgust:

Here is what that dude is talking about - you've just been lucky (so far)!
