Anyone playing WoW on an Emachines laptop?

Just wondering if there's anyone out there having the same problems. Or better yet, is there someone out there with the same laptop who isn't having any issues with WoW?

I'm using the latest Omega drivers, but the video still freezes randomly. On some nights I can play hours without any trouble, and on others, the game freezes constantly. Sometimes vpu recover kicks in, sometimes it doesn't. Underclocking the video card doesn't do anything either, so I have no idea what the problem is.

Just about every MMO has had trouble working on laptops. The games aren't usually tested on laptops. I didn't even know emachines made laptops...

I've had the same issues with my 6809 ... I finally got sick of it and installed WoW on my desktop and it runs fine.

Yah, if I had a desktop machine at the moment, I would probably use it for WoW too. It's a shame that I could play Far Cry and HL2 without these messed up issues, whereas WoW locks up my video so regularly. I can't really say I want to buy a desktop machine just to play WoW, either.

I mostly had issues with the VPU recover. I'd start WoW up, and it would try restarting the video numerous times before the login screen appeared correctly. Sometimes it would just freeze, forcing a reboot. Once I had it running, it ran just fine. I've only had it freeze during the game lately, after installing it on my desktop.

That's odd. I've never had any problems starting the game, but frequently have problems while in the game. Either the display will freeze and vpu recover will kick in, or it will show corrupt graphics/freeze and leave me no choice but to power cycle the machine.
