i think im done w/sf2 pretty much. there is no way i would have paid for this beta (come on now we know no one paid $10 for commandos 3 :p) but i won't even consider buying it until the final version is released and i've read about how the lag issues are on it. the "built in" lag to sf2 on xbl was pretty bad and basically ruined online play to me. sf2 on sf:ac played much better online than the xblm version.

I'd love to try it, but I'm not paying for the beta. SF2 (the original arcade version) is my favourite game of all time, so I always get sucked into playing these newer versions of the game, but they never seem to recapture the magic of the original.

Hopefully at some point a free demo will come out, because I will definitely need to try that before plunking my dollars down.

Hence, why I was asking how it was playing in beta. :p

edit: Speak of the Devil

Downloaded the Super Street Fighter II Turbo High Definition Remix beta? Having problems with freezes, like so many of those posting on the Capcom forum?

Well, tough luck. Capcom says it won't be issuing a patch for the beta - perhaps because it's, you know, a beta.

Responding to the forum complaints, marketing man Christian Svensson wrote, "We wil not be patching the beta. Resubmissions would cost a fortune and not go live for weeks."

Turns out Microsoft would have to approve every new submission, you see: "This isn't like the PC where a developer can make changes daily (for good or ill)."

Svensson concluded by assuring posters, "All feedback and bugs will be factored into the final code."

As reported yesterday, the SSFIITHDR beta is now available for download via Xbox Live. You must have purchased Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 to gain access.

Serious framerate issues. And Ryu is pronounced DYU, not Riiyu.

Huh?

It's in the video.

David Sirlin pronounces it like that, and he happens to be in charge. I think I can excuse the nasty pronunciation once it's finished and ready for tournament play.

the artwork looks too cell shaded, the sound effects suck and music is subpar.

if you ask me, it looks like they made this game in flash.

They need to fix a lot of stuff, especially gamebreaking garbage with Ken.

Being able to juggle off a strong srk... whoever let that idea slip by is retarded. You're potentially stunned after eating the second srk.

This looks like shit. I think I'll stick to 3rd strike for my SF needs although the whole SF series was surpassed long ago anyways. We'll see how SF4 is.

Not talking about the players hacking. The owner or vendor of the arcade machine probably flashed the ROM on the machine.

Exactly. freaking hated those things. Then you had idiots thinking they were god's gift to SF, when all they could do is stupid crap on the hacked machines.

That game just does not look right. It looks very similar to that redone artwork for Double Dragon in that the lines are almost too clean. Hopefully SF4 will turn out well for now I'll stick with SF 15th anniversary edition.

I don't think it looks too bad. I didn't like the cartoony look at first, but I think it'll grow on me once I start playing it more.

It sounds identical to the original SSF2T game, if my memory is right. It looks like it plays exactly the same, too. Were people expecting redone sound too? Anyway it looks like exactly what they promised, so I'm still looking forward to it.
