Anyone Playing Mirror's Edge?

Saw the commercials for it and it looks really neat and like it could be a cool game. Curious if anyone here has played it and would care to comment.

the demo was cool up until i had to balance the character with the controller. it went downhill after that.... download the demo or rent it

i've heard it's quite fun/good with great gameplay, but short and not worth the $60 price tag.

i'll probably try it out in the near future, holidays coming up so i'm gonna have some spare time.

Man I hate that game. It's fun for like a minute, and then the controls are just too damned much.

it's 3 buttons and 1 stick, probably one of the least complex first person games out there

If you can't get it you don't deserve to have a console.

I like it. I don't find the controls weird or complicated. The balancing thing is kind of lame but otherwise it's fun. Short, but my friend has it so I'll just borrow it from him.

I thought the demo was pretty fun. It's a gorgeous game and I don't find the controls to be too complex. I was ready to order it when I read people saying how linear the sequences are, there's no time for exploring, and combat is cumbersome.

When it hits the bargain bin I'll grab it for sure.

I just completed it yesterday..

Definately a rental, i rented it and i'm glad i did instead of buying.. As someone said the graphics are really nice, and its nice being able to jump and climb around. But its just more of the same from the demo.. For the whole game. I found it very repetetive with NO replay value as far as i'm concerned..
Not sure if you've read the reviews but its true what they say about the combat, its horrible and not a good compliment to the rest of the game, its just annoying..

Just make sure you do the training or you won't have a clue what to do for the rest of the time! Lol

Rent it.
Little replay value once you beat it but it's worth the experience.

Awesome game ONCE you get the controls down pat. The overall sound is also A+.

Yea i agree, i really liked the the music on some levels, sets the mood very well..

just rented this game.

i must say. i REALLY enjoy it. i didnt know what to expect but i am glad i rented it. it is complelty orginal and new. it feels fresh. a good change of pace from what i normally play.
i like the time trials the best. just running and jumping and stringing together routes is really rewarding and fun. i dont like the melee and bad guys. the game shines when u just run and get from a to b.

TWO BIG THUMBS UP.

I'm four chapters in and don't recommend it. I got it thinking it was a game where you do free-running, with combat as an option, not a requirement. What I got was a game where I spend most of my time climbing up and down ledges, unintuitive level design that isn't always clear how to proceed, and areas where I'm required to fight/kill cops to proceed. Do you remember the more annoying FPS where you're hopping around ledges, trying to climb up a giant room? Mirror's Edge has that in spades. What I wish the game was like was the opening of Casino Royale, which got crazy with the free-running at the beginning. Oh, and there's a "boss-fight" where you lose all control of the character and die. Apparently, the ONE and ONLY ONE action you can take during the "cut-scene" is to disarm him, and I suck at the timing. IF you plan on using the bullet-time button to make it easier, good-luck, as pressing any button but the disarm button results in him killing you. While I've heard it's very short, I'm having trouble justifying playing anymore... I got it for Christmas and have been putting off finishing it because I've been having such a miserable time.

I'll give ya $15 for it.

the game shines in the time trials where you dont have to worry about the bad guys. this way you know the level and u know where to run. then it all flows togethers. stringing combo after combo all fluid. then finding the short cuts. i was watching videos speed running. its crazy. i still like it. completly worth a rental. i wouldnt buy it.
