So far it's only a demo, done by only 3 developers (no big company to screw up things), but it's solid and has good multiplayer. The physics is its high point, and in my opinion is superior to almost all other driving games.
Live for Speed.
I spent hours playing it this weekend, and I loved it. The physics are very good, and yet, unlike Grand Prix Legends, it is easy to learn how to drive, and you can drive a couple of laps without crashing. I've been playing GPL since it came out, and only now I have a new driving game I like. You can play it with the mouse, but of course a steering wheel or joystick makes your life easier, because you can brake without locking the wheels, and you can control the throttle better.
If you were disappointed with NFS-HP2, give it a try, because it's free and I think you will like it. If all you want are cool crashes and eye-candy, well, maybe this is not for you.
