A friend recommended it to me so i figured its free what the heck even though for the most part I do not like free MMOs and I got to be honest im enjoying the game a lot. Apparently it cost 12 million to make and its made by the Russians.

I havent gotten far in the game but the production value doesnt say free mmo at all. Right now its in open beta.

Also apparently you control ships in pvp and it has been described like being in master and commander where you have 5 guys controlling the ship and running around trying to destroy the other ship.

Amazing! The same friend recommended this game and go figure, no one else on AT has heard of it lol.

Are you playin on the same server he is? Myself and a friend were trying to figure that out last night.

I am pretty sure every other elf in every other MMO game wishes they were as cool as these guys. 😀

I looked it up on ONRPG last night since I was looking for something free to waste time on till D3 comes out. Looked interesting. I may play it but for now I'm playing LastChaos and Scions of Fate.

I just downloaded this today, considered trying it too. I halfway saw some "Pando Media Booster" thing as I launched the installer.

Anyway it seems to speed up the client download using P2P with other people getting it, but doesn't have much of a UI, and seems to keep running and serving up pieces of the installer even after you finished downloading. (I just ran a 'netstat' command and saw a bunch of open connections with Pando's process ID).

It seems fairly simple to disable though:

I played the last closed beta. I liked it, but since then, haven't bothered getting back into it. Things really pick up past level 10 in case anyone is wondering why the combat seems so slow early on.
 
I'm playing off and on. It's more of the same but it's free for the most part and I have nothing else to play since I've worn out Mass Effect 2/Dragon Age.
 
I just started playing it with two buddies. It's really polished especially for being free and in open beta. And the graphics and art are pretty good.
It's got the usual runaround quests and everything is basically the same as other MMOs before it but it still seems decent if a bit slow in the leveling.
 
anyone plays this? apparently...it's rage of mages 4 online... i remember playing part 2 years ago. it looks like they spent a lot of money on this.
 
Never heard of this before until now and I wouldn't mind trying out an mmo that's free if it has some decent feedback

Guess I'll download it and give it a go
 
this is similar to war of warcraft. the interface is very similar.

there is no auto attack. you level very slowly. it's actually quite good for a free game.

oh, the client will detect it if you try to run it in vmware workstation.
 
Quit at level 24 once i reached the Holy Lands, have a low tolerance for constantly getting ganked by high levels while trying to quest.

The game is a bit of a bore at early levels but really starts to pick up after level 10 once you start tinkering with the ruby system.

The instances are absurdly unbalance for their target level, in the second instance on the league side you get 1-2 hit KO by the mobs.

Graphics is awesome though.

Gave it a shot but it didn't really keep me interested. IMO, Lord of the Rings Online offers a far superior F2P experience especially if you've read any of the books.
