Any good? Is single player worthwhile, or is it completely aimed at multiplayer?

I'm looking for a nice squad based game for my xbox, wasn't sure if I should get this. Freedom Fighters also looked very cool. 720p support on freedom fighters. Woo!

What's freedom fighters like? I shall be picking up a game this weekend and was leaning towards crimson skies...BTW at work they 've blocked the game sites, damn them.

A lot of reviews on Freedom Fighters have been quite positive.

It's basically recreating the movie "Red Dawn". The commies have invaded the US, and you are just some joe schmo (like Patrick Swayze) that starts up a rebellious band of "Freedom Fighters". As you complete missions successfully you gain charisma points to help you recruit more fighters to your side.

It sounds really fun, and has got good reviews. I was going to spring on Tiger Woods 2004, SSX3, and either FF or Rainbow 6 III at the Toys R Us 3 for 2 deal.

I preordered it a few weeks back in order to get the demo disc (with new Splinter Cell and GR:IT levels unavailable via Live) - demo was awesome. The real game itself is great. Well worth the money. Tom Clancy games are great on the XBox

i've played a couple hours of single player and an hour on live. it's probably the best xbox live shooter. i have UC, RTCW, GR, and GR:IT.

It mixes the best parts of splinter cell and and ghost recon. It's got the nice lighting effects and urban scenery with all the squad based strategy. The voice recognition in single plater is ok. There are a couple commands I had problems with, but other than that it plays great.

you should definitely pick it up.

BChild - How much better would you say it is than RTCW? RTCW was a lot of fun, but I got bored quickly. The people on the RTCW servers were quite immature, and server diversion was not very good.

I like it a lot better than RTCW. I also got bored of RTCW pretty quickly. I've played 3 hours of RS3 online now. All the games I played were co-op, which is a lot of fun. People say the co-op modes are more fun than the VS modes. I haven't tried VS games because I haven't learned all the maps yet.

So if I had to put the multiplayer experience for RTCW and RS3 on a scale of 1-10:
RTCW = 7 (good maps but it was kind of laggy for me)
RS3 = 8.7 (the gameplay is just deeper and their aiming system is very well designed, which makes shooting a little easier. it's also lag free for me...but thats probably because co-op has a max of 4 players)

RS3 also has some dedicated servers that are hosted by Ubisoft.

The online etiquette(sp?) also seems to be better, probably because the game sizes are smaller and it's more rewarding to actually complete a mission

Thx BChild. You know what the biggest problem is now? I don't have time for games, yet I want to buy both Top Spin and RS3 so badly. LOL. I'm gonna wait a month or so.
