I really enjoyed Midnight Club LA, and since I have Gamefly, I decided to rent NFS:UC. I read reviews that said city was dead, game too easy, etc etc, so I just wanted to play it for some fun and easy game completion.

Anyway, it was pretty terrible. IGN hit the nail on the head with the review, except for the easy part.

I thought this game was extremely hard, even worse than Midnight Club LA (which was reviewed as being a hard game). The AI cars never seemed to make mistakes, and when they did, they would ALWAYS catch up to you. No matter how souped up my car was, they would always be ahead of me. On average I restarted races about 8 times per race.

It's pointless reading this if you haven't played, but I seriously do not understand how the reviews said it was easy. The highway battles and the outruns were easy, but the actual races (sprints and circuits) were ridiculously hard. The first hour or two in game were pretty easy, but after that it was impossible, so only thing I can think of is they didn't actually complete the game.

I swore a ton and got so mad playing that game it was unbelievable. Anyone else agree with me here, or am I alone???? I consider myself a good gamer, so I highly doubt it was my skill.

EDIT: Thank god I was just imagining this:
Need for Speed Undercover features no difficulty levels as you are forced to play in the games default difficulty. I didn't mind this until the game became increasing more difficult. At about the 2 to 3 hour mark I noticed that races became drastically more difficult. Not to mention, the AI seemed far too accurate in making every turn to perfection while racing flawlessly. I hate to use this term, but "rubberband AI" comes to mind. Eventually Need for Speed Undercover gets to the point where if you make a mistake by hitting a wall or colliding with a vehicle head-on, you might as well pause the game and hit restart race. To say this can be frustrating at times is an understatement. I should also mention that the AI is much more aggressive this time around too. I can't count how many times I would be racing side-by-side with the AI and all of the sudden they would take out my back end causing my tail end to swing. Again, it was a very frustrating experience indeed

EDIT 2: Finally found the reason. The update patch that was released made the game very hard.
