Anyone played Mafia?

So does this game pick up ever? I am on my second mission with the actual Mafia after finishing the Taxi missions. I am getting tired of getting pulled over for speeding. I learned to watch the radar for cop cars, but then a cop on foot got me for speeding. WTF. Oh well, seems like a fun game so far.

Mafia is an excellent game. Those taxi missions are a pain in the ass but when you do complete it the game picks up.

Great game and long.

Very cool game. There's a key that you can press to limit your speed while driving. It'll help you from speeding.

i too loved Mafia. I wish they would make a sequel. No matter how hard I try I can't get into San Andreas - being an LA gangster has no appeal to me

Mafia is one of the coolest games I've ever played. GTA can't touch Mafia.

Mafia is one of the best games ever. You are pressing F5 when doing the taxi missions, right? It will make it so you can't run over the speed limit.

Mafia is an incredible game with great storytelling. I wish there was a sequel but I doubt that'll happen.

As for that speeding issue, just turn on the speed limiter and you'll never get in trouble for speeding. Of course the car will be mega slow but thats the price you pay.

Its a great game so give it a chance and play all the way though..you wont regret it!

Fixed. I spent almost an entire day one time just driving around in the Black Metal, tearing police barracades and pedestrians to shreds.

Must be a different Mafia game then. I remember picking it up at one of staples 2 for 10 dollar deals. With High heat baseball.

EDIT: Yep, a different game by the same name for sure. I picked it up in the ninties for 5 bucks... but this game wasn't released till 2002.

ahhh...you're right. You must be thinking of an overhead/isometric view game right? I remember some Mafioso game that looked like Diablo in a way.

That's the one! I was kinda wondering why you guys were calling it the best game ever . It was good... but not that good.

Mafia is a great game. Don't give up if you can't beat the one early racing mission, I remember when it came out a lot of people struggled with that one, but the game picks up nicely as I recall. Amazing story, too.

Oh yea, its definately getting better. The race did give me issues, but I finally beat it. I loved the rooftop level.
