I tried to install it and play it on my AMD7000 build last night and it refused to start. I tried playing around with Windows compatibility settings but it didn't help.

I don't mind getting it on Steam *if* it works (I tried feeding its product code into Steam but it wasn't recognised), but the big question is "does it work", "does it kinda work", etc.

That’s a blast from the past! DirectX 8 game.

Have you tried using a graphics wrapper like dgVoodoo2?

I'd love to play BF2 and Call of Duty 2...but neither one will run on W10...so I feel ya, OP.

Win 11 24H2 with Steam version of CoD2 plays perfect for me.

I found that secdrv.sys was attempting to load but Windows blocked it, so I assumed this was a copy protection issue, found a no-cd hack and the game now works. Yay!

Nice. I have the original CD retail install disks from around 2005. Worked fine even on W7 until a few years ago...an update killed it. I can't really justify buying the steam version of a game I already own. (I guess I don't want to play it THAT badly.)
