I had posted this in OT but figured this is probably a better place for it.

Basically it's an alternate internet that currently runs on top of the existing internet but the future goal is making it physically independent. There are already some local meshnets that are independent but the major uplinks are still through the internet.
Thinking of starting a node myself, possibly even offer some services. I kind of like the idea of a fresh slate internet.
Just curious if anyone here has heard of this project or played around with it. I believe it was originally started on Reddit. Lot of info there about it.
