It's a diablo-esque game from the scrappy underdogs, Neocore studios.

I'm not far, but so far it's pretty impressive. I never really got into ARPG's, but already I can say that I am enjoying this more than Torchlight 2, and it approaches Diablo 3.

Voice acting is superb and the environments and art are well-done also.

Anyone try it?

Just finished it. Loved it. Great voice acting. Interesting build options. Companion that can be geared and skilled to match your build. Nice loot. No auction house to ruin the fun of getting drops. Fun tower defense sections (just two, but a nice change of pace.)

One character, but at least 4 different builds, plus a number of ways to tweak your play.

Plus, Katerina is snarky. :)

im playing it from time to time...on the 2nd act

i love everything except the idea that you have 2 skills to use

if you go FULL physical melee you have the autoattack and 2 other skills on the left side
if you go full magic melee, you have 2 skills on the right side
if you go hybrid melee you have 2 skills on the middle

and the same with ranged...

not quite digging that, but great game nevertheless

Just finished it the other day. Awesome game! highly recommend!

that said it's not perfect. As Edusan says, the skill trees are kind of weird and I found myself not even putting points into stuff because there wasn't a skill I wanted or there was no sense in putting points into a skill because there is no skill quick change. Like if I wanted to use a magic spell with a cool down, I couldn't quickly switch it out and replace it with a melee skill until the cooldown reset.

Needs more multi-hit melee skills because you are frequently swarmed with tons of enemies.

Sometimes there would be 1 enemy that would just totally drain your health super fast, at least in my playthrough. I tried to get a lot of resistances in skills and stats but didn't seem to help much.

I also noticed that sometimes I would pick up an item that said +20% magic find but it only actually gave %10 in the stat window, unless I misunderstand how that works.

I didn't like it, couldn't even finish it that's how unenjoyable it was for me. The skills were all pretty meh and iirc magic was pretty useless. Other people really seemed to enjoy it though.. /shrug

Is this game as deep as Diablo/Torchlight? Or is more like a "light" version of those games?

This is more of what I was trying to say what the game felt like to me in my post, but I did manage to spend 5.8 hours and for 15 bucks I'd say that's a fair purchase.

Another few points to add (as compared to Diablo/Torchlight):
-scaling was really weird
-the camera angle was meh
-skill system very unimpressive (maybe from there only being 1 class)

That's all the flaws I can remember from me playing it a few months ago. I'd say give it a shot for $15.

Bought and played this a while ago. I thought it was really good at first but there is very little depth. The graphics are nice and the basics of the combat mechanics are done well, but item and skill customization is extremely generic and uninteresting. Also did not find the story engaging at all. The online play is terrible as well, playing with a friend who lives only a few miles away and we would constantly get disconnected, terrible lag at all times, freezing, etc.

Steam says I put in 10 hours, but I suspect 2-3 of those hours were me being AFK. I couldn't be bothered to finish it after coming to realize how little depth there was. Supposedly its going to be a multi-game series (I believe the future releases will essentially be expansions), and theres a good game at the core, so if they can improve on a few of the weaker aspects, it could be a very good game when all is said and done. As it is though, I wouldn't spend more than $5 on it.

THis game is on sale, Complete edition for 6.79

Has anybodies opinion on it changed/deepened? I am thinking of getting it, but if the gameplay is shallow, I might pass.

Awesome game, this was the RPG I was looking for. Personally gave me the fix that Diablo 3 couldn't.

Ah, I saw that they finally added the ability to disable the controller in the latest update, which is nice! You have to add "nocontroller" to the command line (Properties > General Tab > "Set Launch Options" button)

I played it for a while, but I found I had to employ excessive kiting in this game, both on groups and champions. One battle I just kept going around in a small circle, periodically using a range attack until the champion was killed. Not my idea of fun.

i think you are not supposed to play this game in the hardest difficulty by yourself. you should play on normal probably unless you are gonna play with friends.

I bought this like 6 months ago, i played a couple hours of it, got to the 2nd map section, and yes,i had to lower the difficulty to play it as you would play a diablo game.

I liked the mechanic of enhancing your spells with up to 3 different effects
