still as long as you don't blow it every week, you should be alright for a little while...but i understand where you are coming from, that would be horrible...getting a loan on a house, leasing a car and all that and suddenly one week the check doesn't come :\

And lumpsums also have higher taxes on them. I'd rather just continue doing what I was doing and just save the extra money from monthly payouts (or just buy a little something extra for myself).

There are dozens and dozens of lotteries of various types. They can come and go at any time, thus it's always best to take lump sum payments whenever possible.

There are dozens and dozens of lotteries of various types. They can come and go at any time, thus it's always best to take lump sum payments whenever possible.
That depends on the individual. There have been many lottery winners in NY & NJ who took lump sums, who have had to claim bankruptcy.
