anyone play red alert 2?

me and my friends want to play some LAN red alert 2, but we cant get it to work. when we click on "network" when we get into the game, it does nothing. is there a bug here? how do we get a LAN game going?

actually we are having more problems. we both installed IPX, and can get into network, but we cant see eachother, or eachothers games? whats going on?
 
hmmm.... my girlfriend and I played RA2 over the network this year and had no problems...

Did you restart and everything after installing IPX?

yeah, we have restarted...nothing. we can both get in, and create games, but we just cant see eachother.
 
I remember some friends and I had this problem with C&C generals. The problem was that we had 2 hubs hooked up and only the people on one hub couldn't see the people on the other hub. It's a long shot, but hope it helps.
 
Westwood games are such a PITA when it comes to networkplay/netplay. We used a program called FSGS to play RA2 last time I played that with a friend.

Awesome game though.
 
so your computers can see each other alright on the network?

and you can see each other on the create game area?

our computers work fine together in other network games, such as CS.


no, we cant see eachother anywhere in the game

I guess the site is dead now (just check, and the domain is gone). Plus i dont think it had a network play... cant remember, but essentially, it replaced westwood servers with its own.
