Anyone play Racquetball?

Anyone out there play Racquetball? I really enjoy playing it, and i've played off and on (90% off) for the last 10 years or so. Though, i cannot recall seeing anyone ELSE playing Racquetball my entire life, besides the people i play against of course. Needless to say it's not hard to get an open court. So does anyone else out there play? Just curious. It's really fun i think, when you're not getting pelted with the ball.

yeah its fun

played it for 4 yrs in college recreationally. even took a class in it for one semester. still have my gear, wish i had a partner and place to play in my new area

My uncle played it growing up, & picked it up again 4-5yrs ago. He plays ever chance he gets(unemployed alot), & even gets into tournaments to knock him back down to reality.

Yeah. Really getting into it at college. Might get to go with school team to the national college tournament @ Arizona St.

Yeah, it's lost a lot of popularity--don't see why... it's a great game. More exciting and complex than tennis, IMHO, it's just that tennis is more spectator-friendly.

i love it... but only doubles or cut throat. i can take more of it, as opposed to getting creamed when i'm the short person w/o any reach.

But i have hit myself in the eye... running for the ball... and barely getting to it. I clipped the ball w/ the top of my racquet, and the ball went into the side wall straight back to my eye.

I've only played a couple of times, it's fun though. Used to be huge in the 80's, but not as much anymore.

Yea, I play. My favorite story from playing racquetball was when this guy a couple courts down got smacked in the face with a racquet while playing doubles. Chipped his front tooth, he was so furious that he hit the wall with his racquet which bent his racquet and broke his wrist. I felt bad, but it was a little funny.

I play squash, its an awesome game that I understand is different from racquetball but I don't know how.

Lotta fun though

is squash played with your hands only?

No, I think you're thinking of handball?

So far the only diffrereneces I know between that and racquetball are that the racquetball racquets are bigger.

Racquetball balls are far more bouncy.

*bump*

Anyone know if an overhead serve is illegal? I've been using it for a while and it works well.

Is a racquetball glove useful at all?

Raquetball is fun, but if you ever have played squash, it just seems like a contest of who can hit it the hardest...

Me too.

Haha. Yeah an overhead serve is illegal.

I like tennis more than racquetball, but both are fun. Tennis is a much, much harder game at the neophyte level at least.

I don't like the serving system in racquetball. It seems too easy to steamroll someone.

fun game, played off and on four years in college. would like to continue, since it keeps the ticker workin mighty fast.
