great sport...just hard to find a place to play sometimes
try your local college athletic arena... they had 10-15 courts ... maybe you can pay to play there.

Played on college team. got into it when to cold for outdoor tennis.

Played some when traveling. Had a client that liked tennis and recquetball.

I was slightly better than him, but he would get more practice and whip me when I first arrived at his site.

It took about 3-4 times for me to zone in and make it interesting.
Then 2 weeks of playing after work and back home for 2 months.

I was playing doubles, and we came up with the genius idea to play with "volleyball" rules where instead of just hitting it you can softly dink it over to your partner as a "setup" shot, except my roommate "set me up" by sending it straight at my face, so I swung at it and accidentally smashed myself in the face with the racquet, knocking my front tooth out of the socket. I fell over, felt the tooth, snapped it back into place *ouch* and it was discolored for a while. My dentist said I'd probably have to do a root canal, but waited a while and it healed, hooray! True story.

Check out local health clubs. Many will have courts.

Anyone know if an overhead serve is illegal? I've been using it for a while and it works well.

Is a racquetball glove useful at all?

I feel that the glove helps you maintain a better grip.

I play once in a while, but since I injured my ankle I think it's gonna be a bit before I play next :(

I play squash, its an awesome game that I understand is different from racquetball but I don't know how.

Lotta fun though

is squash played with your hands only?

No, I think you're thinking of handball?

So far the only diffrereneces I know between that and racquetball are that the racquetball racquets are bigger.

Racquetball heads are bigger, squash has longer necks and the balls are "flatter"

I don't like the serving system in racquetball. It seems too easy to steamroll someone.

If the server is accurate it can get pretty lopsided, especially if the receiver has no backhand. Since I have no backhand, I know this from experience. I do find that if you play a lot you pick up on the best ways to return certain serves, and it becomes much harder for the server to pile up the aces.

Are you sure? I couldn't find anything about it on the net.

So is a Racquetball glove i thing i should have? One of my fingers keeps getting torn up, don't think a glove would help though.

But i have hit myself in the eye... running for the ball... and barely getting to it. I clipped the ball w/ the top of my racquet, and the ball went into the side wall straight back to my eye.

what's cut throat. yea I play off and on I wanna play more regularly this semester.
