1. smash a rock to get to the next level?

2. put together the puzzle in the cave?

Smashing the rock required one of your pokemon be trained with rock smash. This may not happen until later in the game.

Sounds like some obscure game? Doubt anyone has played it.

At first when I saw the OP was banned I was like, damn the OP built up 2,122 posts just to spam? Then realized the 2nd post wasn't Perknose but rather him editing the spammer's post.
