anyone play in usta rec level leagues?

I've just moved to Seattle, but I think this question may be answerable on a more general level.

It seems like team tennis is where a lot of the action is at outside clubs and tournaments. Which is all fine and good, except how the heck do you find the teams? I can't find any kind of listings on the usta website or anything.

What I'm looking for are some tips (or instructions, if they exist), for how to find a team to play on.

Or alternatives for how to get your tennis on without joining a ritzy club.

call a local big tennis park to find teams in your area. hang out around a park, hit against the wall whatever, and you will find people.

Um, I think Avanti Sports can hook you up with a few teams... it's in the U Village. Yahoo Yellow Pages pwn ... Just call the local tennis clubs/retailers... They should be able to help... One of them at Avanti Sports apparently helped train one of the best high school tennis players in my area (or the school at least)...

There's also a tennis club near me called Forestcrest, I don't know if they have a team... But it has indoor and outdoor courts.... Real nice.

I keep getting e-mails from them talking about their 3.0, 4.0, and 4.5 teams. Just e-mail the owner.

Nice, thanks a bunch. A lot of the teams seem to be secret societies or something. The hit-the-ball-against the wall technique got the Jewish Team in Houston recruiting me when I was back there.
